A herd of cows are roaming around Bondi. What that... !
This morning I got down to South Bondi as normal, only to find a large section of sand fenced off. The farm had come to town. A truck full of heifers and horses were unloaded to the delight of the gathering crowd. 'The Herd of Hope' charity were here at Sydney's busiest beach to raise awareness and support for services to the families and loved ones of organ donors as well as transplant recipients. If you're around 2026 today come on down, say g'day to the farmers, hear their stories and meet their animals.
"Stockmen on horseback will visit Sydney with a mixed herd of Australian cattle in 2018. Each of the stockmen has been directly connected to a life-changing organ transplant and the cattle drive will promote organ donation across Australia, and support regional transplant care and services. Funds raised through the Herd of Hope will go towards areas identified by recent University of South Australia research. These include establishing regional transplant and donor family care nurses and providing therapy for families and recipients."
Some beef in the water today too - NO, a stray cow didn't go for a dip. The swell has kicked up and the sets are rather large. Very straight and fat on the hight tide. I think another swim is in order, a bit hot now!!
See you in the water,
Adam
